Welcome to Freelap Timing Systems. We are proud to introduce the Freelap™ personal training system in New Zealand, along with an ambitious Freelap™ Wired Zones network project.

Already extremely popular in Europe and in the USA, Freelap™ products are specifically intended for professional and amateur athletes who are seeking a more advanced training experience with a simple but very accurate and efficient personal timing device.

First, we want every athlete competing in a timed sport to discover the training advantages a Stopwatch™ can offer, turning a training session into a race-like event, recording start, finish and intermediate times along course, totally automatically and independently.

Freelap™ transmitters are available in both a portable version, for athletes who'd like to turn their own training course into a race track, and a permanent model for training centres to install and offer a greater training experience to their clients. This is where we introduce the second and most important part of our mission.

We are working on establishing a Freelap Wired Training Centres Network that will offer Freelap™ Wired courses and tracks so that any Stopwatch™/Timer owner can record their own training information no matter where they are training on a regular basis or where they are going.

Freelap Timing Systems are easy to use and can be set up in minutes. Individuals can simply turn up at their training destination, set the transmitters where they want to record times and then start the stopwatch/timer and any time they cross a transmitter a time will be recorded. Or if the centre they turn up already has permanent sensors then they only need their stopwatch/timer.

Moto X

Set up your TX Pwer 5 transmitter anywhere on the track and everytime you go past it your MX Timer (mounted to your handlebars) automatically detects the field and records the time. The timer displays the lap time (whilst still counting) for 3, 10, 20 or 30 seconds (whichever you programme in). At the end of the session you can see all your lap times. You can even go back and check your lap times from yesterday or the week before or the month before so you can see how far you have improved.

As Used by Daryl Hurley - Current NZ Super and Moto X Champ.

"The Freelap system really works. I dont go on a training ride without it." Daryl Hurley

All you need is an MX Timer (pictured below) and a transmitter. Transmitters are available as a portable option like the Power 5 Transmitter which you can take to any track you like and set it up in seconds. Or you can install a permanent transmitter on your local track. The MX Timer picks up the electromagnetic field that the transmitter emits. You can run  as many timers per transmitter as you want.
