//ON LOCATION With xmas only but a week away and the start of 2007 nats only 3 weeks away I thought I should get off my fat ass and do some filming this weekend in the land of lattés and cappuccinos, yes you guessed it folks "Dorkland" home to over 1 million people and the great NZRIDE.com compound. As usual we got off to a slow start with our team leader Aaron being very slow on the espresso machine while we waited for the arrival of Cam Cole, did you know he is the current Jr world DH champ? I had asked Aaron to set up a parade with ticker tape, fire works and all the rest of the trimmings that such a great feat deserves, but Aaron insisted on giving Cam exactly what BIKE NZ had given Cam for winning such a great title. So there we are as the Jr World DH Champ drives into the Nzride compound, and as we stated we gave Cam exactly what Bike NZ gave him, NOTHING. opps did I say that out loud, oh well that's another story for later.
After much talk we had decided to load up Kai Chow Halfling's car and head off to find some serous dirt to let the World Champ put those Maxxis tyres to good use. On our way to our Native location we came upon a traffic dilemma where the cars were backed up due to one persons inability to negotiate dorkland roads, our own dilemma was that we had a World Champ in the car and did not want to keep him waiting, Kai chow Half ling our personal driver was not about to wait and with one hand on the wheel and the other on his stick he made the bold move to find space on a deserted footpath and use this as our passport to freedom. The laughter from within the car as we made our merry way along the footpath and around the corner was deafening, which is why we didn't seem to hear the police siren. $150 later and a good lesson learned, we finally made our way to our location.
The first day of filming became a write off as the forces of nature were against us (park ranger), but this did not deter us from making the most of our situation and film we did but only on a more limited front.
Day 2 and all is well in da hood, dry and dusty trails graced our arrival and pleased we were. A full days filming with World Champ Cam Cole, Byron "wella" Scott, Skinner and a cameo from Da Beaver himself. Also on test for the day was the new NZRIDE.com race jersey, and this is one sexy piece of clothing that will make even the ugliest of Dhers out there look as good as six pack of beer at end of a long days downhilling. So there you have it, that‚s a wrap and if this weekend was anything to go by, then the 2007 season is going to be out of control. We will see you at Wanaka.
We were going to show you some photos of Cam Cole Jr World DH Champ ripping up the tracks this weekend, but we couldn‚t bring ourselves down to the same level as BikeNZ and give Cam nothing again for making him our poster boy too!
Opps did say that aloud again, sorry Bike NZ, you are winners in my book.

MIKE HILL
In 2005 Mike Hill brought you Pusher and along with Byron Scott, set a new standard for Kiwi mountain bike DVD's. Now Mike is back and bigger than ever to bring you Pusher 2.
Mike's going to be travelling round with the NZRIDE.com crew for the whole national series and filming at all the rounds as well as some secret locations around the country with all of our top riders.

Can't wait? Niether can we - that's why we sent Mr Hill out filming over the last couple of weeks and he has managed to wade through the hours of sheep padocks he filmed to find the od bit of downhill and edit a quick teaser to whet your appetite.
Is the NZ mainstream mountain biking community ready for the second edition of Pusher, probably not but who gives a Fuck this is a downhill DVD. Pusher 2 will be Bigger, better, faster and louder thanks to the partnership with the only real DH website NZRIDE.com where lycra is a sin unless worn in the confides of your own bedroom.
Bigger is Mike Hill (film and edit machine) and getting larger by the day after swallowing 2 harddrives for easier on the run downloading ability, which translate into eating to much and not enough exercise. Better is the involvement of NZRIDE.com who live and breathe downhill on a daily basis. Faster is the level of riders who will be the main show case of this National series DVD. Louder will be the in your face interviews with what's good and bad about NZ downhill.
Who will feature in this crazy new addition to the first edition, all the fast pro riders and the fastest juniors, with a few special features from the Queenstown posse and the amazing new dirt farming from Nathan Greenwood
and co. This is going to be a ripper after all we have gold and silver medal winners Cam and Sam ready to mix
it up in the pro ranks and change the face of NZ downhill. With the worlds having been and gone it will be interesting to see how new riders will flood into the downhill scene. Bring on the 2007 national series its going to be bigger than ever before.
