PETER COOPER : RACELOG We first featured Pete Cooper as our second Onit-Grommit a couple of months ago, he's now on board as a part of the Animal / NZRIDE.com '07 race team. Checkout Pete's reports on the Blenhiem Club Race at Strawns Peak and from this weekend's race ont he fringe hill course in Nelson.

Remember your first ever DH race, it was most likely a club race and was where you first got hooked to the DH thing. Now why am I going on about a club race you are thinking, well that‚s easy to answer as this is where it all starts, and first impressions at your first race will shape your future DH thoughts.

While in Blenheim I got the chance to see Greg "magnum" Leov in action with his great band of hardy volunteers work their magic for the 30 riders that turned up to race. Not a great number of riders, but all the same they all gave there best on a fast and challenging course. The amount of juniors and first time riders that had turned up out number all other divisions showing that the sport of DH racing in NZ is alive and well even in the back blocks of little towns like Blenheim.
